Little Black Dress Initiative 2020

Little Black Dress Initiative 2020

The Junior League of Sioux Falls is focusing on issues of poverty in our community. Poverty limits your resources, your options and even the ways you can express yourself - making it harder for you to better your life choices and break the cycle of poverty. Join us as Advocates in the Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI).

As LBDI Advocates, you will demonstrate to others the limits of poverty by wearing one black outfit for five (5) working days to:

  • Highlight how the lack of resources affects the daily lives of those living in poverty.
  • Assist the Junior League of Sioux Falls in raising awareness about the work we do to help combat poverty.
  • Fundraise in support of the mission of the JLSF - to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve the lives of women and children in our community.

In addition to supporting the mission of the Junior League of Sioux Falls, a portion of the funds raised will go to our 2020 community partner for the Little Black Dress Initiative -  Lunch is Served, Inc. Our goal is to provide 1,000 lunches.
