The Junior League of Sioux Falls is a non-profit organization that supports its mission through fund development in the Sioux Falls community. The monies raised support the mission of promoting voluntarism, educating and training the volunteer, and improving the community through carefully selected projects.

In 1979, the Junior League of Sioux Falls launched its first fundraiser, Booming Bargains, a community wide rummage sale, which had long running success through 2002. Additional fundraisers have included “Through a Bird’s Eye”, which resulted in building The Habitat for Humanity House Constructed Primarily by Women and Dining Dakota Style — a cookbook featuring member’s favorites with a special section for wild game.

From 2007-14, we hosted a girls' night out event: “Pumps, Pearls, Purses, and…”! This theme party was a highly anticipated evening out for women in the Sioux Falls community with the proceeds continuing to reach back into the community! In 2017, JLSF held its first Adult Prom! Break out the cheesy poses and dance moves (and even some of those old prom dresses!!). Funds were used to support Junior League's efforts in human trafficking issues in South Dakota. In 2018, JLSF held a Masquerade Ball. In 2019, the first year of the Little Black Dress for JLSF, funds were raised for Dress for Success to get 50 pairs of non-skid, black shoes. The Little Black Dress Initiative in 2020 is partnering with Lunch is Served.

The organization continues to plan fun and engaging events to bring awareness to issues that are supported by the Junior League of Sioux Falls.
